Jamie's 1st Month [Week 2] ABA Training Progress - Autism Partnership Singapore

🛎️[WEEKLY UPDATE - JAMIE'S PROGRESS WEEK 2]

Often, parents may find it difficult to get their children to wait quietly while they are buying something at the supermarket or food center for example. 🛒🚸Instead of being disruptive when not being able to get what he or she wants, it is important for a child to learn how to be able to wait. This was the case for Jamie during his first week of training, as he would often resort to screaming out of frustration, to get what he wants or to have things does his way. 💢Other challenges displayed were his tantrumming behaviors and lack of compliance.

In our first update of Jamie's progress, Ms. Jeena Tan (BA Psy), Program Supervisor, will share with us about his first few sessions and the skills that we have been working on. We are happy to share that he has made some good progress so far! ✨📈

To address the above issues, we started with a simple program where Jamie had to stop a preferred activity calmly with reinforcement to learn how to tolerate waiting. We also used a token economy to teach some "Learning how-to-learn" skills such as sitting nicely at the table and not grabbing teaching materials. This prepares Jamie to be more ready to learn! 🎒🎓
