This is the stabilized version which clearly shows that the sequence can be successfully stabilized with a result seen only with the most expensive camera gimbals.
The purpose of this video is to demonstrate how global shutter effectively keeps the pixels "in place" without rolling shutter which is known to cause jelly in the picture.
This video is not color corrected or enhanced in any way. The sequence was first cut and resized to 75% in VirtualDub, then stabilized. The camera was mounted on a Tarot Ironman 1000 octocopter on a Tarot 5D servo gimbal which is indescribably wrong for the job.
The power of global shutter is astounding particularly during hover and descent. In the unstabilized sequence the picture shakes and wobbles terribly. Also note how the quality behaves during pan, typically the picture looks terrible unless the pan is done very slowly but with global shutter it looks very usable.
The unstabilized version can be found at • Видео
Note! Particularly on Windows based computers with browser Flash players the clip advances with jerks and unevenly (most notably during pan), to view the clip in natural speed the video must first be downloaded to your computer and played locally.
