Wonderbug Saturday Morning TV Series Facts and Goofs

From 1976 to 1978 the Wonderbug TV series rode through our television sets on Saturday mornings as part of the Krofft Supershow. In this video I take a look at some facts and goofs from the show as well as answer the question where are the cast now? I also look at some of the guest stars from the show.

Wonderbug himself was a car in the shape of a dune buggy model that transformed from a beaten down old junk heap named Schlepcar to a superhero car named Wonderbug. The show was definitely patterned after Speed Buggy as he both were cars that were self-aware.

The Wonderbug cast included Jack Baker as CC, David Levy as Barry, Carol Anne Seflinger as Susan, and voice actor Frank Welker as Schlepcar.

Frank Welker is known for huge number of cartoon voices most famously as the voice of Fred Jones and as the current voice of Scooby Doo.

Wonderbug shared it's spot on the Krofft Supershow with shows like Bigfoot and Wildboy, Magic Mongo, and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

Some of the goofs I look at involve special effects scenes like how they turned the cast into dolls for some high flying aerodynamic moves and what is the correct way to spell Schlepcar or Shlepcar. They didn't seem to know for sure.

I also look at Wonderbug's powers such as flight, self-awareness, using his antenna as a arm, and projecting liquids and his seat belts to capture criminals.
