An unexpected public observation gathering at the Eastern Iowa Observatory and Learning Center on Tuesday 11 - November 2025, Veterans day. A personal plan to head to the observatory for an quiet evening to try my luck at capturing some interesting pictures. Turns out I was not the only soul in the area getting some sort of notification about potential for strong aurora borealis a.k.a. North Light Show was on! This video includes some background about spaceweather conditions leading up to the great light show. The sky did not disappoint, a truly magical night for me as I engaged with as many guests as I could asking all who walked into our learning center to sign our guest log book. It is a long video at 7 minutes hope you enjoy the show.
