Sometimes you just want to plug in, crank up, and sound like Jimi Hendrix. The JHS Unicorn V2 is really good for that - it's actually hard NOT to play something that recalls "Machine Gun" when you first plug into it. Spend a little more time digging the functions though, and many more sounds will be unveiled. The Ratio knob opens up numerous possibilities for unique rhythmic pulses, including triplet and dotted eighth subdivisions. I like how these options can introduce an almost tremolo-esque character to the proceedings. Add tap tempo, an expression pedal, and a fuzz somewhere in the signal chain, and things will start to get really wild. Hit go on the video and hear the Unicorn V2 doing its thing.
