Welcome to the Islamic Center of Washington DC! First conceived during World War II, the Islamic Center primarily serves as a mosque for the entire Muslim community in the DMV. President Eisenhower spoke at its dedication in 1957, and at the time it was the largest mosque in the Western Hemisphere. It is hosting an international bazaar on its grounds today, and we will be there! Not only will we peruse the food and market stalls of various Muslim countries, but we will also explore its sacred prayer Hall inside. And let's not forget about the architectural wonder of the building itself, made even more majestic with its row of flags of Muslim countries lining the entrance. If you're in the market for handicrafts, jewelry, spices, exotic food, books, rugs, or maybe something else, then grab your cash and meet me at the gates!

In this channel we explore events and places, both on and off the beaten path, in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area (known locally as The DMV - DC, Maryland, Virginia).
