Ecdysis Foundation’s ongoing mission is to change the way we grow food for a better world. Since 2021, their 1000 Farms Initiative began collecting data across North America, farm by farm, field by field, boots on the ground. On Saturday, June 29 they reached a major milestone by visiting the 1000th farm. By measuring properties such as soil health, water dynamics, plant communities, invertebrates, pests, birds, nutrients, and economics, Ecdysis gets these farm-level results back to the farmers and agricultural communities to inform practice and inspire change.
They’re not stopping at 1000 either. Ecdysis continues to develop new technologies, procedures, and partnerships that help interpret and share this invaluable data. They continue to seek out farmers and communities to help support this powerful mission.
