When I heard the sad news of the loss of our friend Kevin Mendoza, very dear to our family(Andro Martinez,@Dauno Martinez,@Fenix Martinez,@Tamara Pottier(Tamara Pottier),@Banel Martinez), it was a hard blow since we always considered him as a son (the sixth).
I received the invitation(Yanya Boston & Kevin's family) to participate in the concert dedicated to his memory.
When I still wasn't sure what to choose to play, my eldest son Andro Martinez(Martinez productions) called me by phone the day before and asked me what I was thinking about playing for that night, I replied... 'I'm still thinking about it'..., but he spontaneously suggested me... 'of course Balada Melancolica' you have to play is the right music for Kevin. I immediately realized that he was right.
The atmosphere that night of the event was one of extraordinary camaraderie, respect for a lot of human warmth and sadness. Many friends from Kevin's life were present, family members and music fans. Many of the most recognized artists in the music industry made an appearance to pay him a posthumous goodbye in a tribute to this great musician).
I went on stage, my heart was beating fast with emotion, my hands and body were trembling. While I was playing this music, the emotion increased even more when I heard some sobs that broke my soul and I felt like I would break and that I would no longer be able to complete my performance.
Here is the sublime moment of all hearts, melted in the spirit of our great friend Kevin.
The concert took place on January 7, 2024 with a duration of 4 hours.
