Okay! I wasn't expecting this when I woke up this morning! For the second time this year, the Ukraine Air Force Antonov AN-26 01BLUE came to Visit Rotterdam Airport! Absolutely incredible! It's almost as if it came back for anyone who missed it last time. Today the weather was stunning. I was just about to finish work when it came in from Brussels. The departure time at 17:30 was not great for light on the runway. But that's the only remark I have. I went on top of the Fletcher hotel and filmed the start-up of the two powerful Progress AI-24VT Turboprop engines. It was to see the start-up guy jump in the back of the plane after the start-up, and to see one guy sitting in the small navigators spot. It taxiet out in beautiful light and took off with a very little climb from runway 24, destination Copenhagen. Just like that, after more than 10 years of no Antonov's at Rotterdam, we have had two visits in the space of about a month! The question now is... will it visit again soon? Let's hope so!
