I didn't think I would even get a chance to race the new car at the Classic Touring Car Racing Club's Silverstone opener after gearbox problems kept me out of race one. However a heroic effort saw the gearbox sorted in the nick of time- no really, the car was still up in the air with spanners turning when the rest of the Jags were sat in the assembly area!
So I lined up at the back of the grid and I was pretty fired up to make the most of all the hard work that had gone into getting the car out. What followed was an epic race through the field, though my life was made difficult by Rick Walker and Derek Pearce who fought me hard! Eventually I managed to make my way through to 10th overall, 6th in the Jags, and 1st in Class B, a great race and one to remember for the XJS' first outing.
