厳島神社について/About the Itsukushima Shrine

境外末社の厳島神社は、須佐神社より出雲方面へ700mの場所に鎮座します。
御祭神は【市杵島姫命】を祀り、地元からは「洗井戸（あらいど）さん」と呼ばれています。
例祭は年二回、それぞれ七月と十一月の十七日に斎行され、毎月十七日に月次祭が斎行されます。

The Itsukushima Shrine, an auxiliary shrine located about 700 meters toward Izumo from Susa Shrine, enshrines the deity Ichikishimahime-no-Mikoto.
Locally, it is affectionately known as “Arai-do-san” (the Washing Well Shrine).
The annual festivals are held twice a year, on July 17th and November 17th, and a monthly Tsukinami-sai ritual is conducted on the 17th of every month.

この神社は、出雲市により「地域が誇る観光スポット」に認定されております。
傍には須賀川が流れ、本殿山側には見上げるほど大きな岩の壁が聳え立ち、小さな神社ながら境内には神秘的な雰囲気が漂っています。

This shrine has been officially designated by Izumo City as a “Local Pride Tourist Spot.”
Beside the shrine flows the Suga River, and behind the main hall stands an enormous rock wall that towers high above, creating a majestic backdrop.
Although small in scale, the shrine grounds exude a mystical atmosphere that invites quiet reflection.

About Susa Jinja Shrine

Susa Jinja Shrine is located in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, and is dedicated to Susanoo-no-Mikoto, the god of storms and the sea in Japanese mythology. Its history spans over a thousand years, with origins dating back to the ancient Izumo no Kuni Fudoki (Chronicles of Izumo Province).
