Mapping Europe’s zero-emission transformation
Europe’s vehicle manufacturers fully support the Paris Agreement and the EU’s 2050 transport decarbonisation targets, investing billions in electrification to bring zero-emission vehicles to market.
The essential conditions for this transition are not in place, putting the EU’s competitiveness at risk. Consumers and commercial transport operators still face major barriers, including insufficient charging and hydrogen refilling infrastructure, limited operational convenience, high total cost of ownership (TCO), affordability concerns, and high energy prices. As a result, the shift to zero-emission mobility remains highly challenging.
