“NOOR-E-WUJOOD – Honoring the Courage of Terror-Affected Persons With Disabilities”
(International Day of Persons with Disabilities – Town Hall Kupwara)
Kupwara, 3 December 2025 – Save Youth Save Future Foundation organized a distinguished programme titled “NOOR-E-WUJOOD” at Town Hall Kupwara to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The programme was led by Chairman Save Youth Save Future Foundation, Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat; Ms. Anika Nazir, President, Women’s Wing, Save Youth Save Future Foundation; and other eminent guests. The initiative aimed to honor terror-affected individuals who sustained permanent disabilities due to past incidents of terrorism and to provide them a platform to share their experiences and concerns.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Anika Nazir, who emphasized the critical need for sustained institutional and societal support for women disabled as a result of terrorism.
During the event, terror-affected individuals living with disabilities shared their personal stories, highlighting the profound impact of terrorism on their lives, families, and livelihoods. The interaction provided insights into their rehabilitation, healthcare, and employment challenges.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat, appreciated the efforts of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation and lauded the courage of terror-affected individuals who have persevered despite permanent disabilities. He stressed the importance of community support, timely medical intervention, and institutional assistance in helping these individuals lead dignified lives.
A medical camp, organized by the District Administration, provided essential health services to attendees, demonstrating proactive care for vulnerable populations.
Chairman Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat highlighted the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to empower terror victims and stressed the shared responsibility of society and institutions in ensuring their well-being and dignity. He also expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, for his leadership, support, and dedication to providing justice and hope to the families of terror victims in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Foundation expressed sincere gratitude to the District Administration Kupwara and all partners whose support ensured the successful execution of NOOR-E-WUJOOD.
