The story follows Nian, a small fluffy ginger-and-white cat, on a journey from loss to finding a loving home.
At first, Nian lives happily with an elderly woman in a cozy house, where he is petted, plays with a ball of yarn, and enjoys warmth and affection. One day, Nian is brought to an animal shelter, a new environment that overwhelms him. Scared and anxious, Nian hides in a corner, avoids food, and watches other animals from a distance, feeling lonely and insecure.
During Nian’s adjustment, Elara, a patient and gentle volunteer, approaches him carefully. Through patience, gentle play with a feather toy, and consistent care, Nian gradually begins to feel safe. He starts stepping out of hiding, playing, and showing affection by rubbing against Elara. Eventually, he integrates into the common area, responding positively to attention and care.
The story reaches its climax when Nian is introduced to a new family. Initially hesitant, he is encouraged by Elara and the child’s gentle hand. Nian cautiously approaches and touches the child’s fingertips with his nose, forming a new bond. Nian is taken to his new home, where he explores the space, plays joyfully, and finally rests peacefully on a windowsill, gazing outside with calm and contentment.
