Located on the top of a hill at the foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains in Japan, this house is an impressive example of modern and minimalist architecture that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding natural landscape. Designed by the renowned architecture firm Kidosaki Architects Studio, the House in Yatsugatake offers spectacular panoramic views that extend for miles.
The house incorporates the stunning views into its design, employing an expanded horizontal approach. Half of the house is designed to extend into the air, supported by two diagonal steel columns with a diameter of 300 mm, creating the sensation that the house is floating amidst the lush natural scenery.
Upon entering the house, you are immediately greeted by a hallway that leads to a living room with floor-to-ceiling glass walls on three sides. This layout allows the occupants to feel immersed in the natural landscape around them. The living room, dining area, and kitchen are integrated into a spacious open space, offering a majestic view that extends on three sides.
The bedrooms are positioned at the other end of the house's layout, and each of them offers sequential views of the undulating landscape, allowing for a variety of different perspectives. Additionally, the house features a wooden deck that surrounds the property, providing a sheltered outdoor area for recreation and relaxation.
The architecture of the house is characterized by a minimalist design and carefully crafted details. The refined structure creates a sense of tension and unity in the space. The residence expresses a worthy reverence for the surrounding landscape while maintaining a humble and respectful character.
This unique house represents a perfect fusion of modern architectural design and the imposing beauty of nature. Living in this residence is like inhabiting a cloud, immersed in the overwhelming presence of panoramic views. It is a luxurious and exclusive retreat for those seeking an intimate connection with nature and an exceptional architectural experience.
