Hemp russet mites, while specific to cannabis, can be widespread and build up to high populations. They are microscopic and disperse via wind and movement of plants and clones. Symptoms include upward folding of new leaves and, in when populations are high, stunting of plants.
Dr. Raul Villanueva, extension entomologist at the University of Kentucky, provides an overview of hemp russet mites and provides research results for biological control insecticides including ABBA Ultra, BoteGHA, Fujimite, and SuffOil.
