Oct 31, 2017: Went to check out PPR Melana Indah where some of the Kg Bakar Batu inhabitants have been relocated to.
Johor is big on urban farming so it was pretty good to see some of this activity going on; after all, it must be difficult to move from an idyllic riverine setting to the urban hardscape of low-cost flats.
There was even a self-made jetting for their fishing sampans. Quite a number of the folks were coastal fishermen but many apparently didn't bother to renew their licenses with fisheries.
