The final movement of Georg Friedrich Handel’s Concerto grosso No. 11 in A major, Op. 6 is a radiant and energetic conclusion, where the music moves forward with a sense of natural excitement and joy. The driving rhythm and open character create an immediate feeling of momentum and confident affirmation.
In this movement, Handel combines formal clarity with his unmistakable theatrical instinct, turning seemingly simple material into a moment of pure communicative energy. It is a closing movement that does not seek to dazzle, but instead smiles, leaving the listener with a feeling of balance, fulfilment, and shared joy.
From the concert in St. Katharinenkirche, Laufen (Switzerland) on the 9th of November 2025.
