Spiritual growth isn’t just about producing fruit—it’s about staying in a constant state of growth, no matter the season.
Psalm 1:3 tells us that the righteous person’s leaf never withers, meaning that growth should always be happening. But there’s more—this person doesn’t just wait for things to happen; they cause growth and prosperity. What does this mean for your spiritual life? How can you ensure that you’re always growing, even when you’re not in a “fruitful” season? That’s what we’ll dive into in today’s video.

Why It’s Always a Season for Growth
Many believers think that spiritual growth only happens in certain seasons—when life is going well, when they’re experiencing victories, or when they’re in a leadership position. But Psalm 1:3 gives us a different perspective. It tells us:
➡️ "He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers." (Psalm 1:3, ESV)
This verse paints a powerful picture of a believer who is consistently growing, no matter the circumstances.
1. Growth Doesn’t Stop in Dry Seasons
Just like a tree may go through seasons where it’s not producing visible fruit, we also go through times when we don’t see immediate results. But that doesn’t mean we’re not growing! Under the surface, roots are still strengthening.
If you’re in a season where you don’t see fruit, don’t be discouraged. Every season is a growth season. The key is staying connected to the streams of water—God’s Word.
That’s why I emphasize consistent, in-depth Bible study. When you regularly invest time in Scripture, you’re ensuring that your roots go deep, preparing you for the next season of fruitfulness.

2. You Don’t Just Experience Growth—You Cause It
Psalm 1:3 doesn’t just describe a person who passively receives blessings. The Hebrew text indicates that this person causes prosperity.
That means your spiritual growth isn’t just for you. You are meant to be a source of growth for others.
➡️ Are you investing in someone else’s growth?
➡️ Are you sharing what you’ve learned with others?
➡️ Are you creating an environment where others can thrive?
If you’re serious about deepening your spiritual walk and becoming a source of growth for others, my devotional eBook Planted to Grow will help you take that next step.

3. Growth Requires Daily Intentionality
Some people wait for growth to “just happen.” But if you want to see real spiritual transformation, you need to be intentional.
🌱 Growth isn’t about giant leaps—it’s about small, daily decisions.
🌱 Aim to be 1% better today than you were yesterday.
🌱 Stay in “growth mode” every day, even when you don’t feel like it.
Consistent Bible study is so important. The more you study Scripture, the more you align your life with God’s truth.
