Hampi Day 1 | Sunrise Trek, Ancient Temples & Vijayanagara History

Our Hampi journey begins early at 5 AM, starting with a peaceful trek to Anjanadri Hill, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Watching the sunrise from here was the perfect way to begin exploring one of India’s most iconic heritage landscapes.

After the trek, we enter Hampi and visit the sacred Virupaksha Temple, where we take blessings, see the famous Lakshmi Elephant, and experience the incredible inverted shadow (pinhole camera effect) inside the temple.

We then explore some of Hampi’s most remarkable monuments:
• Sasivekalu Ganapati & Kadevekalu Ganapati
• Krishna Temple
• Ugra Narasimha & Badashivlinga
• Underground Shiva Temple
• Hazara Rama Temple
• Mahanavami Dibba & Pushkarni

Each site reflects the architectural brilliance and grandeur of the Vijayanagara Empire. By afternoon, we wrapped up Day 1, headed out for lunch, and took some well-deserved rest.
