🌊 A Place of Views and Vistas
Pendennis Point is celebrated for its panoramic outlooks across the Fal Estuary, St Mawes, and out to the open ocean. On clear days, visitors can watch ships, yachts, and even the famous Tall Ships Regatta or Red Arrows displays from this vantage point. It’s also a popular spot for wildlife watching, with seals, seabirds, and occasional dolphins or basking sharks spotted offshore.

🏰 History and Heritage
The headland is steeped in military history. Pendennis Castle, commissioned by Henry VIII in the 1540s, was built to defend against invasion from France and the Holy Roman Empire. Nearby, the smaller Little Dennis Blockhouse adds to the area’s defensive legacy. Today, the castle is managed by English Heritage and remains a major attraction, while the surrounding grounds are free to explore

FRAGGLE ROCK

The Fraggles of Fraggle Rock, Cornwall
Hidden along the rugged Cornish coast, just beyond the spray of the Atlantic, lies Fraggle Rock—a craggy outcrop where the tide sings and the gulls squawk. Unlike its TV namesake, this Fraggle Rock is said to be home to a band of Cornish Fraggles: pint‑sized, sea‑salted folk with kelp scarves and pockets full of periwinkles.

By day, they scamper among the rock pools, trading limpet shells and playing hide‑and‑seek with crabs. By night, they gather in the caves beneath the cliffs, where phosphorescent seaweed lights their feasts of pilchard pies and saffron buns. Local fishermen swear they’ve heard the Fraggles’ midnight choir—high‑pitched voices harmonising with the waves, singing odes to pasties and shipwrecks.

Legend has it the Fraggles are guardians of the coast. When storms roll in, they scramble up the lighthouse steps, tugging at ropes and ringing warning bells. And if you’re lucky enough to visit Fraggle Rock at dawn, you might glimpse a tiny figure waving from the rocks, before vanishing into the spray.
