#frenchcafe #frenchcafemusic - This contemplative melody was the theme used over and over to make the movie "Midnight In Paris" so unforgettable. A movie of crazy dreams and fervid cravings to live one's life during prior eras that were surely more idyllic and fulfilling than life in our own times. This melody is a perfect fit for that mindset of escape and fantastical fantasy. Go there... try it on... who needs today when so many eras of yesterday seem so absolutely perfect.
Si Tu Vois Ma Mère translates to "If You See My Mother." Written in Paris in 1953 by American New Orleans clarinetist Sidney Bechet. Bechet was an American musician who fell into so much trouble in New Orleans that he moved to Paris to find himself and rebuild his life. So glad he had contemplative and impassioned moments such that he could write this melody that takes us into the past, or the future, or where ever you want to go!!! Enjoy the journey.
Thank you Bud Hedrick for bringing this great tune to my attention years ago. I always enjoyed playing this tune with you at the Poche beach house. Thank you to studio musician Tim Weed who plays such a beautiful violin melody here on this recording!
