Regulus Black & Barty Crouch jr | BROKEN CROWN [Death Eaters CMV]

This video shows the stories of Regulus Black and Barty Crouch Jr. Their depiction is based on the information you can find in the Harry Potter books.

This is a story about characters idolizing death eater ideology, following their propaganda, and committing terrible crimes. It contains implications of fictional violence (torture and murder) as well as some major character death.

This project has been a dream of mine for 6 years. Ever since we started playing these two at a LARP we wanted to explore more than just their Hogwarts years and — more importantly — what happened to them outside the walls of Hogwarts. Most of it is pretty much headcanon inspired by the few information you can find in the books.

Regulus and Barty are rather tragic. I love how they start at completely different points: the Black family endorsing blood purity and sympathizing with Death Eater ideology while the Crouchs — or rather Barty Crouch snr. — speak strongly against it. And then these two boys meet at Hogwarts, become friends, but eventually fall apart and go into completely opposite directions. Regulus actively trying to destroy Voldemort while Barty is responsible for bringing him back. O, the tragedy!

In the end, this was a rather ambitious project and it means so much to me. A massive thank you to each and every one who helped me out with this video, who let me use their home as a location, listened to my brainstorming, got in costume when it was like 37°C, operated a camera despite having never done this before, bringing along costumes and props, and trusting me enough to even participate without knowing what would await them (or knowing me, really). I am looking at you Bellatrix and Sirius. You rock!
