I recently had the chance to upgrade my sim racing setup with the MOZA ESX 12-inch wheel mod, and it’s been a surprisingly significant improvement to my overall driving feel. Coming from the stock ES wheel, the larger diameter instantly felt more realistic—closer to an actual GT-style steering wheel you'd find in a real car. That extra size gives much better leverage in slower corners and tighter turns, especially in rally stages or drifting, where subtle, controlled inputs matter. The first time I used it, I was immediately struck by how much more natural my steering inputs felt.
The build quality of the wheel mod is impressive. It has a solid, premium feel with just the right amount of weight to add realism without making it too heavy to handle during long racing sessions. The installation process was straightforward—it’s a direct replacement, so I didn’t need any tools beyond what MOZA provides. Everything fit snugly, and there was no wiggle or looseness once mounted. The leather wrap also adds a nice tactile element, improving grip and reducing fatigue over time.
From a performance standpoint, the ESX 12-inch mod has changed the way I approach races. The additional precision I now get in cornering, along with the enhanced control in force feedback transitions, helps me drive more confidently—especially in sim titles like project cars 2 and le mans ultimate. It also helps with immersion; I find myself getting more into the rhythm of racing now that the inputs feel closer to reality. Small corrections are smoother, and the wheel doesn’t feel as twitchy or sensitive as it did with the smaller diameter.
Overall, adding the MOZA ESX 12-inch wheel mod has made a bigger difference than I expected. It’s not just about comfort—it’s about gaining finer control and a deeper connection with the car. If you're running a MOZA ES base and want to make your experience more lifelike without a massive overhaul, this mod is easily one of the best value upgrades out there.
