Tinsley Yard of the 1980's and 1990's remembered

This feature length compilation is from my vast archive collection I have amassed over 30 years and this production encapsulates my visits in the late 1980's and early 1990's to the then "quite" active place of Tinsley Yard outside Sheffield. Locomotive classes frequently stabled at the Depot were classes 08, 20, 31, 37, 45, 47, 56 plus many visiting locomotives of the same classes on a variety of different workings in and out of the then fairly extensive yards to the North of the Depot. The area has changed so much since then being swallowed up by modern units but some infrastructure remains in a derelict condition. The public footpath behind where I did my filming from has long gone too so the only vantage point is from the old road bridge that crossed the yard entrances to the TMD. It is sad to witness the demise of this location as it was a popular viewing point for many and myself particularly as a half way point for my many trips North and Scotland (The poor wife and kids!!!). I utilised my trusty old full size VHS camcorder for the earlier shots so the quality is not brilliant and I have not lost too much in translation to Digital but the second camcorder used progressed up to super VHS format and is a distinct improvement on picture and sound (now in stereo).
