Thrifted Antique & Vintage Finds Appraise for Big Bucks!

"It was at Value Village for $3.99..." "We found it in an old car"..."They rolled the cart out at Goodwill and there it was!" These are the fun stories that go along with a bunch of really cool vintage items people are bringing to today's appraisal fair at Lander Street Vintage, the premiere antique mall in Seattle, Washington. Will these thrifted and gifted goodies prove to be real treasures?

We find out in this video, where everything from a Brazilian tapir carving to a Tiffany ring cross our appraisal desk! Hand-painted Japanese porcelain to MCM Murano bowls, Northwest serigraphs to Navajo jewelry, the items brought by collectors to this event are fun to see and explore in depth as they challenge us to uncover their origins in the distant past.

Along the way, we get to show people how to learn more, from where to find Old Pawn jewelry marks to how to loupe a signature to see if it's real; we try to decide if a Victorian mercury glass piece is complete, or not all there; and we distinguish a newer cast iron mechanical bank from its Victorian counterparts. Our goal is to help our viewers and our appraisal fair attendees have more fun with their finds, and understand better what gives them value to today's collectors!
