Music City Grand Prix TA2 IN-CAR - Race Highlights - Evan Pecore

Ride along for a wild tour of Nashville in the Diversion Motors (www.diversionmotors.com) TA2 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Evan Pecore (www.evanpecoreracing.com) for the first 5 laps of the Music City Grand Prix, followed by some race highlights. Unfortunately our race was ended early due to a broken axle stub and axle.

Our race started off well after qualifying p15 in a VERY tight field of big name racers. We had a good start and moved up a couple spots but it was pretty obvious that we had a great car for the race, so we started picking off positions as we could. We worked our way to 9th when another competitor hit us under a local yellow on lap 11 breaking my left rear axle and axle stub. Not knowing the extent of the damage (and that the only thing holding the wheel on was the brake caliper) we decided to keep pushing, although the car definitely felt off. We still were able to turn quick laps and run top 10 pace, but 1 lap after the restart there was a track blockage right in front of me, so I had to bail off track costing me 10 positions. At that point I knew our race for a top 10, maybe top 5, was over so we just had to salvage what we could. However as luck would have it, the broken stub and axle finally completely failed a few laps later forcing us to drop out from the race taking p20. It's unfortunate we don't have the finishing position to reflect how good the car was for the race, but that's racing.

Still, thank you to all my family and friends that came to Nashville to support me, it truly means a lot. Thank you ValuPro Motorsports/Fab (www.valupromotorsports.com) for making the necessary changes to the car over the 2 days we had to make it top 5 capable. Thank you Diversion Motors, LLC for letting me drive the car, sorry its coming back to Wisconsin so banged up!
