Snorkeling with Turtles at Kapalua Bay | Maui Snorkeling Spots HAWAII | Best places to snorkel

Kapalua Bay Beach is one of the best snorkel spots on Maui. We highly recommend it to any beginner snorkelers - the sheltered bay almost always has calm water and the sandy entrance into the water is very easy. The reefs form a crescent shape around the outside of the bay - start on the northern end and work your way out and around to the see the most coral and fish. There are tons of turtles here - we saw at least 8 this day!
The center of the bay is sandy so the water will be often be cloudy there but if you stick to the edges and snorkel near the rocks the visibility will be much better. The closer to the northern point you can get the clearer the water will be.
