"MicroBiome has a special place in my heart for many reasons, one of the best being that it earned me the title of Featured Young Composer with the American Harp Society (AHS) in 2021. There were nine of us chosen in total that year, and we were all excited to be performing our selected pieces in Orlando, Florida that summer at the AHS Summer Institute. Sadly, given that it was in 2021 the event was moved online. We had a great time at the online event and it was an honor we will never forget. Three years later the AHS National conference was being held in Orlando and I planned to attend. Having missed out on Orlando the first time was still a disappointment, and I knew for a fact that I wasn't alone. This special performance of MicroBiome was recorded in the busy Exhibit Hall during the conference as a bit of consolation for the whole class of '21 Featured Composers."
