In the mid 1950ʻs, labor missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered in Laie, Hawaii to begin the construction of the Church College of Hawaii, to later be re-born as Brigham Young University Hawaii. These unpaid laborers came from the isles of the sea with the spirit of love, sacrifice and determination and built a University where students from the Pacific and beyond could gather to further their education in a multi-cultural and spiritual environment. This short film includes observations and reminiscences of many of those amazing labor missionaries.
