Hello, everyone! Do you love learning about big, happy parties and cool traditions from all over the world? Then you should listen to our podcast. Join our host, Phoebe, and our amazing guests, Day, Winnie, and Singapore as we explore the fun and important celebration of Karen people. In this episode, we are learning all about the Karen National New Year. Did you know their New Year happens in December or January, after the big rice harvest? We'll find out why they wake up before sunrise to raise a flag and sing a special song. They also talk about the best parts of the celebration: why everyone wears beautiful, colorful clothes? the funny game of climbing the greasy pole for a prize, the exciting Bamboo Dance and Don Dance that last for about two hours. And, of course, the special breakfast of yummy sticky rice and hot tea. The Karen New Year is a wonderful day of pride, unity, and celebration. Come listen and learn why being proud of your culture is the best part of all.
