The Minor7♭5 Arpeggio Trick Bireli Lagrene Uses Everywhere

In this jazz guitar lesson, I break down a Bireli Lagrene–inspired sweep picking line built from a minor7♭5 (half-diminished) arpeggio. This line uses the exact same fingering in two different octaves, making it easy to play fast while staying clean and controlled. I also demonstrate the sweep picking approach Bireli uses so you can execute the line smoothly at higher tempos.

Beyond the line itself, I show four practical ways to superimpose a minor7♭5 arpeggio to create new harmonic colors in your solos. Finally, I apply this concept to a minor ii-V-i progression, moving the same shape to fit each chord so you can immediately use it in real jazz standards.
