🎣We hit Thomas Hill Lake early in the morning with high hopes of catching some crappie by trolling crankbaits. I was out with my oldest son, Jordan, breaking him into the technique, but the crappie had other plans. Instead of crappie, we caught a pile of channel cats, and even picked up a stray largemouth bass and a striper!
The crappie bite was completely off, but it was still a fun day on the water—because any time spent fishing with your kids is time well spent. This video shows the real side of fishing, when nothing goes to plan, and you're forced to just enjoy the ride and maybe clean some unexpected catfish.
