We chatted with Christopher and his mum, Pam, at the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle.
Christopher was diagnosed with kidney disease after he fell ill with HSP (Henoch-Schönlein purpura). After his diagnosis, Christopher and Pam decided that peritoneal dialysis (PD) was the best course of treatment for Christopher.
PD was a great choice for Christopher, and when we spoke Christopher and Pam, Christopher was in the process of preparing for a kidney transplant. Christopher has since received a kidney from his dad and is looking forward to his first holiday with his new kidney.
