Here we have some trucks collecting around the Sun Valley and Pacoima area of the East Valley District's Friday collection area.
This was shot at the very beginning of August 2018 where mass changes in East Valley's fleet were occurring. First, when this video was shot, East Valley was in the process of having more and more of the 2005 diesel Pete Amreps being transferred over from West L.A. This was also one of the last months that East Valley would run and operate a lot of their 2003 "dual fuel" Pete Amreps because the following month (September 2018) they began a mass retirement of these "unique" units and up to this date, very few are left across the city and I believe less than 5 are left at the East Valley yard unless they have been retired already without me being aware.
This video (in my opinion) was filled with surprises because I kept running into the 2005 diesels that I had no idea East Valley had gotten. I was also surprised to find out that 36280 (East Valley's last remaining Amrep with the N3 arm) had gotten it's arm replaced and this was filmed during its first few days with the new arm.
On this day, I pretty much filmed every truck I ran into whether it was a slower truck or a fast one. I did this because I thought a little variety would be cool.
A huge thanks to the drivers and to the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation East Valley District for making this video possible! Thanks for watching and enjoy!
