How To: Honda CRF250L Short Levers Fitted to a CRF300L/Rally 4K
In this video I fit some economically priced, short, sprung levers, for a CRF250L to my CRF300 Rally.
I'm swapping them as I find, particularly on the clutch side, that two finger clutch pulls trap my other two fingers. By fitting shorter levers, two finger operation should be possible.
There are not many CRF300L/Rally levers available at the moment, and lots of CRF250 levers. The front brake lever is a straight swap and is easy. The clutch lever needs to have the pivot hole enlarged from 7mm to 8mm. This in itself is pretty easy, all you need is a drill. It's a bit more tricky than that though, as the problem I found is how to clamp the new lever both perfectly aligned for the new hole, perfectly level, and immobile for the drilling. I had to dismantle the new lever, then only clamp the pivot section, drill, clean up, and refit. If you've read this far, you don't need to watch the video!
