My 2011 Ford Fiesta was throwing P0053 and P0420 codes. P0053 points to a problem with the heater circuit in the upstream O₂ sensor. In this video, I show how I replaced the upstream sensor and cleared the P0053. That code hasn’t returned — but I’m still getting a P0420 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold).
