Offroading a MDX Type S vs Toyota 4Runner through washed out roads in the Owyhee mountains of Oregon

This was a birthday trip with some friends setting out to explore extreme SE Oregon in hopes of making it to Birch Creek Ranch. What we ended up encountering was the weather turning on a dime, sunny skies became dark, rainy and cool and the mud seemed to grow before our eyes. Owyhee mud is no joke - this mud sticks to your ribcage, it's thick, heavy and extremely sticky no matter the vehicle/tire/AWD/4WD system you have. In the end, the MDX Type S kept up with the Toyota 4Runner through the rutted roads, mud, water crossings and doing it all dramatically more comfort from what my buddy was saying. 1000 mile trip, 100's of miles off pavement and a memory to last a lifetime!
