“Northern Live” Brings Northern Soul Magic to G Live

We headed to see Northern Live at G Live, Guildford,for an unforgettable night of classic Northern Soul -and it didn’t disappoint!

The band filled the theatre with powerful locals, rare soul classics, a strike and throwback officials of northern history. From the very first song, the audience was encouraged to dance-not on the dance floor, but in front of their seats and down the centre aisle with some also using the side aisles.

💜Accessibility note: while my powerchair’s lift gave me a good view, anyone less able to stand or dance or in a manual wheelchair might have struggled once people stood up, especially as the dancers right in front of their seats & across the busy centre aisle. A good reminder that accessibility is about sight lines and space, not just ramps.

A brilliant night of music and memories-with a little food for thought on how venues can make sure everyone enjoys the show.
