North of Sumatra - a Magical place
We traveled to North Sumatra in low/off Season, looking for some potential waves to surf without people around. We found them! Surfing in Aceh.
We found a little town with a beautiful beach where the waves, smaller or bigger, were consistently working every single day. Both right and left point breaks, being the left point the friendliest of them. It's the dream surf spot on North Sumatra for intermediate level surfers, like ourselves.
Then, we flew from Aceh to Medan and caught a car drive all the way to Bukit Lawan, where we went on a two days trip to see the Orangutans. It was incredible to see from up close these "almost human" big orange fellows!
