I tried, but I couldn't resist the off-the-shoulder trend! I had this maroon fabric lying around and it had the perfect thickness for shorts, but was also light enough to wear during the summer. So let's DIY a romper!
The seam allowances are quite straight forward, but they vary. So below are the general guidelines along with the measurements I used in parenthesis. For reference, both of my elastic were 1/2 inch. Any seam not mentioned below would have the normal 1/2 seam allowance
Bodice top = Twice the width of your decorative elastic (1/2 inch)
Bodice waist = Width of your elastic plus 1/2 inch (1 inch)
Sleeve top + hem = Twice the width of your decorative elastic (1/2 inch)
Shorts waist = Width of your elastic plus 1/2 inch
Shorts hem = 1 inch (I used none since I retained the edge of my fabric)
