Day 1 of our 3 Day Ben Nevis Trip, Scotland to climb the mighty mountain of Ben Nevis in June 2025, and our trip from Belfast to Fort William. On this video, James and I leave his home at 5.30am and head to Belfast to catch the Stena Line Ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan, Scotland. The boat left 15 minutes early and we enjoyed breakfast and some treats in the Stena Lounge.
Getting off the Ferry was very straightforward, and inside of turning right for the Lake District, we turned left and headed north towards Glasgow. On the way we stopped a few times to take in the sea views, but we also stopped at Turnberry Golf Club, which has hosted the Open many times.
In Glasgow, we crossed the Clyde over the Erskine Bridge, and then made a pit stop for fuel and lunch. Next stop was at the beautiful village of Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond where we strolled about and ate ice cream. Then it was further northwards were we drove through the spectacular Glencoe area making a number of stop, before finally arriving in Fort William - 183 miles of driving - we checked into our Airbnb, went and got dinner, made sandwiches for next day and had an early night in preparation for climbing Ben Nevis the next day.
