Au Ladakh dans l'Himalaya Indien, chaque année les monastères bouddhistes organisent un festival. Ils ont été créés pour expliquer la religion à la population en majorité illettrée. Ils permettent encore de réunir les habitants de plusieurs villages au alentour. Outre cette fonction social, ils permettent aux monastères de récolter quelques oboles.
In Ladakh in Indian Himalaya, every year the Buddhist monasteries organize a festival. They were created to explain the religion to the population for the greater part illiterate. They still allow to gather the inhabitants of several villages in surrounding. Besides this social function , they allow the monasteries to collect some monney.
