"Leaving on a Jet Plane" is a song written by John Denver in 1966 and most famously recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary. Many artist cover this song.
In 1977, Indonesia rock band, Superkid, record this song on their second album "Dezember Break" under the title "I'm Leavin'". The Superkid version was sung by their vocalist, Deddy Stanzah. Stanzah performed the song so well and (in my opinion) is one of the best cover versions of "Leaving on a Jet Plane".
Deddy Stanzah (born in Bandung, West Java, April 14, 1949 - died January 22, 2001) is a rock singer, song writer, and bassist, who is also known as a member of the band The Rollies (1968 – 1972) and Superkid (1977 – 1988). He also briefly joined the band Giant Step and Godbless in the 70s. He produced 4 studio albums with The Rollies, 6 albums along with Superkid, and about 6 solo albums, as well as releasing several singles.
Deddy Stanzah's greatness not only in the recording world, with his involvement in the album with Superkid, solo or duet. He is also an accomplished entertainer when live performances, excellent stage mastery backed by a stunning stage style so enjoyable to have been emitting his own charisma for his fans.
