A closer look at all the parts that came with the van — what’s worth saving, what’s beyond hope, and what I’ll need to chase down over the next years.
The matching-numbers 302 block is here, along with the crank, cam, pistons and timing gear… but let’s be honest, most of it’s probably headed for the bin. The current plan is to rebuild the matching block and convert it to a 351 spec with new internals and alloy heads, keeping only the original rocker covers and air cleaner for an OG look.
The interior situation is a bit grim. XC dash plastics are notorious for turning brittle, and mine are cracked beyond repair. I’ve got the GS gauges, the GS clock and a decent glovebox, but the rest will need to come from a donor car or Marketplace finds.
