Maya Rudolph's 4 Children All About Pearl, Lucille, Jack and Minnie

Before she was stealing scenes on SNL or singing her heart out in Bridesmaids, Maya Rudolph was stepping into her biggest, most chaotic, and most rewarding role yet — being a mom of four. Together with director Paul Thomas Anderson, she’s raising Pearl, Lucille, Jack, and Minnie.
Let’s start with Pearl, their firstborn, who made her entrance in 2005 while Maya was still on Saturday Night Live. Pearl basically grew up backstage — flying with Maya to New York, smiling at strangers, and winning hearts. Maya called her “the coolest girl I’ve ever met,” and honestly, coming from Maya, that’s high praise.
Next is Lucille, born in 2009 — in the most dramatic way possible. Maya didn’t even make it to the hospital. Lucille arrived fast and furious during an unplanned home birth. Maya said it was scary and awesome, like most of parenting. Lucille and her siblings all take piano lessons — willingly or not — because Maya believes in nurturing their creativity, even when they roll their eyes.
Jack, born in 2011, was a surprise in more ways than one — they didn’t even know if it would be a boy or girl until he arrived. And by kid number three, Maya joked that they didn’t even have a car seat anymore. Jack’s the old soul — he watches Turner Classic Movies during breakfast like he’s prepping for film school at age four.
And then there’s Minnie, born in 2013 and named after Maya’s late mother, legendary singer Minnie Riperton. She may be the youngest, but she’s got some serious star power. Maya says her kids often stage living room performances and demand she sit and watch — which honestly sounds like a typical day in the Rudolph-Anderson house.
While Maya keeps her kids out of the spotlight, they did all make a cameo in Paul’s film Licorice Pizza during the pandemic. Between that, their musical talent, and their very experimental baking, it’s safe to say the Rudolph-Anderson kids are growing up in a whirlwind of love, art, and probably a few burnt cookies.
