SO FOLKS, after all the searching and visits, after all the blood, sweat & tears, not to mention traversing 4x4 terrain in my Waja, we come to the last contender for the next spot in my Weevil garage!

I've owned a Toyota Corona before, a TT132 from 1977, and what better way to commemorate 2020, the Year of the Corona-virus, than to get its namesake from Toyota? This is how a car-guy celebrates a crazy year, lol!

I've always liked the Corona, as you know it was discontinued soon after this model in lieu of the Camry, which in itself is a very, very good car, especially the 1st gen 2.2GX. This 9th generation ST171 2.0 GLi (3S-FE engine) was owned by an uncle who decided to get something smaller and auto for his daily needs, yes, it's a 5-speed MANUAL.

Insofar as 2.0-litre cars are concerned, it's getting harder to find manual variants, so I had to go see this thing and test it. It's the last contender and going for RM4k, negotiable. I was also thinking, since I've already had a 1.6L Corolla SE, this would be an interesting 'upgrade' of sorts, something I recall seeing in a Toyota TV commercial from a very long time ago, enticing owners of a Corolla to upgrade to a newer, bigger, better and (then) more modern Corona, so why not check it out indeed, only this time, 30yrs later, it wasn't at a UMW Toyota showroom...

THE ALFETTA...
FINALLY after 4 days, I got the Alfetta back from Abg Ramly, and oh-my-God, the old man hasn't list his touch ONE BIT. Not only is the Fetta smoother and better sounding, it's also MUCH easier to start up in the morning now! Ramly hasn't lost his magic touch one iota, he's still an ACE. Thanks very much sir, you really made my day! :)
