This was EMOTIONAL.
Tears naturally welled up in my eyes watching this performance (the cold wind in Stevenage did not help), and I do not apologise for singing to this powerful evocative song during my recording, as many in the stadium did the same.
Ashcroft is quite simply a phenomenal song writer who touches the depths of pain and sadness so so well. I only just found out now as I'm posting this he has won 2 consecutive years of Ivor Novello award for "Songwriter of the Year" & "Outstanding Contribution To British Music"."All this talk of getting oldIt's getting me down, my loveLike a cat in a bag, waiting to drownThis time I'm coming down"
