I am trying to figure out how to film, please be patient. In my efforts to capture everything and cook a meal I end up missing a bunch. Regardless, out seafood boil had the following in it.

Crab,
Shrimp,
Crawfish,
Onion
Red Potatoes,
Garlic,
Old Bay,
Salt,
Pepper,
Garlic Salt,
Jalapenos,
More Crab,
All boiled up and served hot with rolls and bowls of butter (about 3 sticks for everyone).

Keep in mind that the crab, crawfish and shrimp all cook just a little bit differently. The cook times are different. If you over cook the shrimp it becomes a bit rubbery.

Below are some simple cooking recipes for cooking crab, shrimp or crawfish or the whole thing...

🦐 Simple Seafood Boil Recipe (Serves 4–6)
🛒 Ingredients:
1 lb shrimp (shell-on)

1 lb crab legs (snow or king)

1 lb smoked sausage, cut into chunks

4–6 small red potatoes, halved

4 ears corn on the cob, halved

1–2 lemons, halved

1 head garlic, halved (optional)

1/2 cup Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)

Salt (about 1–2 tablespoons)

Optional: 1 stick butter, melted, for dipping

🍲 Instructions:
Bring water to a boil
In a large stockpot (8+ quarts), fill with water (about 4–5 quarts).
Add Old Bay, salt, garlic, and lemon halves. Boil for 10 minutes to season the water.

Add potatoes and sausage
Cook for 10–12 minutes, until potatoes start to soften.

Add corn
Boil for 5 minutes.

Add crab legs
Boil for 5–6 minutes.

Add shrimp last
Boil for 2–3 minutes, just until they turn pink.

Drain and serve
Drain everything and spread on a large platter or newspaper-covered table.
Serve with melted butter, lemon wedges, or garlic butter sauce.


To boil Dungeness crab:

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add salt (about 1/4 cup per gallon) and optional seasonings like bay leaves or Old Bay.

Add the crab (alive or pre-cleaned). If alive, submerge them headfirst quickly and carefully.

Boil time:

Whole live crab: Boil for 15–18 minutes for a 1.5 to 2.5 lb crab.

Pre-cooked or cleaned crab halves: Boil for 5–7 minutes, just to reheat.

Once done, the shell should be bright orange. Cool with ice water or let rest briefly before cracking.

🦞 How to Boil Crawfish (Southern Style)
🛒 Ingredients (for ~10–15 pounds of crawfish):
Live crawfish

4 gallons water

1–2 cups Cajun or Creole seasoning (like Zatarain’s or Louisiana Fish Fry)

6–8 lemons, halved

2–3 onions, halved

2 heads garlic, halved crosswise

8–10 ears corn, halved

2–3 pounds small red potatoes

1–2 pounds smoked sausage, cut into chunks

Optional: 4–6 bay leaves, cayenne pepper (for extra heat), mushrooms, or whole artichokes

🦐 Simple Boiled Shrimp Recipe
🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4–6):
2 lbs raw shrimp (shell-on or peeled, deveined)

3 quarts water

2 tablespoons salt

1–2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)

1 lemon, halved

3–4 cloves garlic, smashed (optional)

2 bay leaves (optional)

1 small onion, quartered (optional)

Ice (for ice bath)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions:
1. Prepare a Flavorful Boil
In a large pot, add:

Water

Salt

Old Bay or seasoning of choice

Lemon halves (squeeze juice in, then drop them in)

Garlic, onion, bay leaves (optional but adds depth)

Bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Let it boil for 5–10 minutes to infuse the flavors.

2. Boil the Shrimp
Add shrimp to the pot.

Stir briefly and boil:

2–3 minutes for medium shrimp

3–4 minutes for large/jumbo shrimp

Shrimp are done when pink, opaque, and curled into a “C” shape.

3. Stop Cooking with an Ice Bath
Immediately transfer shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop overcooking.

Chill for 2–3 minutes, then drain.
