Save time and money, avoid the crowds for obtaining new chicks in Feb to May by incubating some of your egg harvest. The chickens can also do this work but they get all broody and stop laying (as much) when you leave them to sit on their eggs. Additionally, sometimes they peck or overcrowd the eggs and they break, reducing your inventory of potential new birds.
